Get ready for an exciting week of aviation challenges, teamwork, navigation, engineering, and hands-on flying experiences at Halfpenny Green Airport. This immersive 5-day holiday club is designed for students who want to experience what it’s really like to think, communicate, and work like pilots and aviation professionals.
Based at a live airport environment, students will spend the week exploring key aviation skills through practical activities, simulator flying, teamwork challenges, and exciting real-world aviation scenarios.
From formation flying and navigation to aircraft engineering, emergency response, and investigation, every day brings a different aviation mission designed to build confidence, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Throughout the week, students will take part in a range of exciting themed days, including:
✈️ Red Arrows Formation Flying Day
Discover how display teams such as the Red Arrows fly in close formation and coordinate incredible aerial manoeuvres. Students will learn the fundamentals of formation flying, communication, teamwork, aircraft spacing, positioning, and flight discipline through exciting simulator challenges and activities.
🗺️ Navigation & Flight Planning Day
Learn how pilots plan routes and navigate through the skies using charts, headings, and navigation systems. Students will create and fly their own routes while developing real flight planning skills.
🎮 RC Aircraft & Engineering Day
Explore the science behind flight through aircraft engineering, aerodynamics, and RC aviation. Students will learn how aircraft control systems work before taking part in exciting RC flying experiences.
🚒 Air Traffic Control & Emergency Response Day
Step into the world of aviation communication and emergency operations. Students will learn how air traffic control works, practise pilot and controller communication, and may have opportunities to visit the ATC control tower.
🕵️ Aircraft Investigation & Guest Speakers Day
Become an aviation investigator and work in teams to analyse and report a simulated aircraft incident. Students may also hear from exciting aviation guest speakers, including opportunities to learn from real fast jet and military aviation professionals.
