Get ready for an action-packed week of fast jets, military aviation, mission planning, test flying, and tactical operations at the Army Flying Museum. This unique 5-day holiday club is designed for students fascinated by military aviation and the exciting world of high-performance flying.
Based in an inspiring military aviation environment, students will step into the shoes of military pilots, mission planners, test pilots, and air traffic controllers while taking on hands-on challenges, simulator flying, and exciting mission-based scenarios.
Throughout the week, students will explore how military aviation works — from fast jet operations and reconnaissance planning to communication, teamwork, navigation, and tactical decision-making.
Throughout the week, students will take part in a range of exciting themed days (subject to change), including:
🔥 Fast Jets & Formation Flying Day
Discover the exciting world of military fast jets and learn what it takes to operate high-performance aircraft. Students will explore the speeds, techniques, and skills required for military flying before taking part in simulator-based tactical flying, formation exercises, and mission scenarios.
🎯 Military Mission Planning Day
Step into the role of a military mission planner and discover how real operational flights are coordinated. Students will design their own military mission, considering route planning, navigation checkpoints, timing, fuel, and operational objectives.
🧑✈️ Test Pilot Day
Learn what it takes to become a test pilot and how aircraft are evaluated for performance, handling, and safety. Students will carry out structured flight test exercises in simulators, including handling evaluations, navigation challenges, take-off and landing tests, and emergency procedure scenarios. Students may also hear from real test pilots.
🚁 Army Aviation Operations Day
Explore how military flying operations are planned and executed, including navigation, communication, reconnaissance, weather planning, and operational decision-making. Students will complete practical aviation challenges inspired by real army aviation missions and may hear from military aviation professionals.
🎧 Air Traffic Control Day
Discover the world of air traffic control and how controllers manage aircraft safely and efficiently. Students will learn key aviation terminology, the phonetic alphabet, and explore the differences between civilian and military ATC while taking part in exciting pilot/controller communication exercises.
