BYP Space City Holiday Club – Mission Control Awaits

Get ready for an unforgettable week of rockets, drones, space missions, flight simulation, and real aerospace challenges at Space City.

This exciting 5-day experience is designed for young people fascinated by space, aviation, engineering, and future technology. Across the week, students will step into the role of astronauts, mission planners, rocket engineers, drone pilots, and space navigators while tackling hands-on challenges inspired by real aerospace missions.

Each day focuses on a different space and aviation theme, combining interactive learning with practical activities, teamwork, simulator flying, and exciting mission scenarios.

Throughout the week, students will take part in a range of immersive themed days, including:

🌕 Artemis Mission Day

Discover how NASA plans missions to the Moon and beyond. Students will learn how astronauts survive and work in space before designing their own mission to Mars, planning crew roles, survival systems, and mission objectives as part of a team challenge.

🚀 Rockets Day

Learn how rockets overcome gravity and launch into space while exploring the science behind thrust, drag, lift, and flight. Students will design, build, and test their own rocket models before improving their designs through practical experiments and teamwork challenges.

🛰️ Space Navigation & Pilot Missions

Take on the role of a pilot and mission controller to learn how navigation works both on Earth and in space. Students will plan routes, solve navigation problems, and complete realistic mission-planning exercises inspired by real aerospace operations.

🎮 Drones Lab Day

Learn how drones fly using motors, sensors, and control systems before taking to the controls yourself. Students will practise manoeuvres, complete flying challenges, and work together on exciting drone mission scenarios such as rescue or delivery operations.

⛈️ Meteorology & Space Weather Day

Explore how weather affects pilots, aircraft, spacecraft, and communications systems. Students will analyse weather data, make pilot-style flight decisions, and respond to changing weather conditions through interactive flight and mission scenarios.

Alongside the themed activities, students will enjoy:

  • Hands-on simulator flying

  • Rocket and drone activities

  • Aerospace engineering challenges

  • Team mission exercises

  • Aviation and space navigation tasks

  • Opportunities to hear from guest speakers from aviation and aerospace industries

  • A fun, immersive STEM learning environment

Throughout the week, students will build confidence, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills while exploring the future of aviation and space exploration.
