Step into the captain’s seat and experience what it’s really like to fly a commercial jetliner.

The British Young Pilots Airbus Academy, in partnership with 3Twenty Aviation, is a one-day immersive aviation experience designed for young people aged 11 to 17 who dream of becoming airline pilots. Hosted in a full-scale Airbus A320 simulator at 3Twenty Aviation, this program offers real-world insight, professional instruction, and hands-on flying — all in one unforgettable day.

Whether your child is aviation-curious or already obsessed with flight, this is the perfect way to ignite their ambition and bring their passion to life.

What to Expect

Each day is limited to just 8 students to ensure high-quality, personalised instruction. Students are divided into two groups of four, rotating between structured ground school sessions and professional simulator training.

Ground School (2 Hours)

Led by experienced instructors, ground school includes:

  • The journey to becoming an airline pilot

  • How airline operations work: routes, rosters, and real-world decision-making

  • Airbus A320 cockpit layout and key flight systems

  • An introduction to aircraft computers, automation, and safety procedures

  • A full pre-flight briefing for the simulator mission

This engaging session sets each student up for success before they step into the simulator.

Airbus A320 Simulator Experience (2 Hours Total)

Includes 30 minutes of hands-on flying per student

Each student will enter the full-scale Airbus A320 simulator and take the captain’s seat under the guidance of a professional Airbus pilot.

During their session, they will:

  • Take full control of the flight deck

  • Push back from the gate and complete pre-start and engine start checklists

  • Brief and fly a Standard Instrument Departure from a major airport

  • Fly a stabilised approach and landing, safely bringing their aircraft back to the ground

When not flying, students will stay in the simulator environment, observing their peers, reinforcing their learning, and building situational awareness — just like real first officers do.

Course Details

  • Course Fee: £155 (inc VAT)

  • Duration: Registration 09:30 | Start 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • Training Time: 4 hours total (2h ground school + 2h simulator)

  • Lunch Break: 1 hour
    (Please provide a packed lunch as catering is not available on site)

  • Group Size: 8 students maximum per day (2 classes of 4)
